Thank you for your interest in advancing the field of occupational therapy through volunteer leadership. AOTA’s Volunteer Leadership Development Committee (VLDC) is seeking candidates for appointed leadership positions on a variety of committees, commissions, and special interest groups. These roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of our profession, expand your professional network, and enhance your leadership skills.

Qualifications
Please review the general eligibility criteria, click on specific positions listed below for details from the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or Job Description/Position Description for each position, and review the Volunteer Leadership Competencies for each governance group.
General Eligibility Criteria
- Shall have consistent access to a high-speed Internet connection and be comfortable working in a virtual communications environment. This includes opening, saving, editing, and sending attachments in email and other electronic formats as needed.
- Shall be a member in good standing of the Association at time of nomination and throughout the term of office. In addition, some positions require state association membership. Please refer to the SOP or JD to verify.
- Shall have knowledge of and familiarity with Official Documents of the Association (including Bylaws, policies, relevant SOP/JD, AOTA Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics (2020), Administrative SOP, and Strategic Plan).
- Shall not serve in any other position at the same time unless designated in the SOP/JD or appointed to a smaller group of the body to which he or she was elected.
Appointments will be made by early June 2025, with the assumption of office on July 1, 2025, the start of Fiscal Year 2026.
