AOTA’s Volunteer Leadership Development Committee (VLDC) is seeking candidates for appointed leadership positions for the following committees, commissions, or groups. Qualifications

Please review the general eligibility criteria, click on specific positions listed below for details from the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) or Job Description (JD) for each position, and review the Volunteer Leadership Competencies for each governance group. Please note that Occupational Therapy Assistants are eligible to apply for all positions except the Occupational Therapy Academic Leadership Council (OT-ALC) Chairperson and Ethics Commission Public Member positions.

General Eligibility Criteria

• Shall have consistent access to a high-speed Internet connection and be comfortable working in a virtual communications environment. This includes opening, saving, editing, and sending attachments in email and other electronic formats as needed.
• Shall be a member in good standing of the Association at time of nomination and throughout the term of office. In addition, some positions require state association membership. Please refer to the SOP or JD to verify.
• Shall have knowledge of and familiarity with Official Documents of the Association (including Bylaws, policies, relevant SOP/JD, AOTA Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics (2020), Administrative SOP, and Strategic Plan).
• Shall not serve in any other position at the same time unless designated in the SOP/JD or appointed to a smaller group of the body to which he or she was elected.

Appointments will be made by early June 2024, with the assumption of office on July 1, 2024. The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, March 29, 2024, by 11:59 am ET (just before noon).

Prospective appointees will need to submit a letter of interest, a CV/résumé, and short responses to questions. Proof of membership in the state affiliate may be required for some positions. All application materials must be submitted by the deadline through the online platform to be considered.
